Premed student

think : pre-architecture

The pre-architecture program introduces CWRU students to the forms, history and functions of architecture as well as to the studio skills relevant to its practice. The program is designed to provide a background for undergraduate students who plan to continue architectural studies at the graduate level, as well as for those interested in the study of architecture as part of a liberal or technical education.

Practical study

Pre-architecture students gain inspiration and practical knowledge from learning experiences outside of the classroom, including field trips, studio experiences, site visits, and research of local and regional architecture. Discussions span the social, spatial and aesthetic elements in architecture and urban settings; problems related to small, intimate scale and residential structures; large-scale and public buildings and their relationship to the encompassing visual world; historic and contemporary architects, engineers and significant architecture, and engineering firms.
