Welcome to the Case Western Reserve University Chapter of Sigma Xi, the Scientific Research Honor Society
The CWRU Chapter of Sigma Xi organizes and sponsors Science Café Cleveland, a monthly, informal public discussion of scientific issues featuring the experts themselves! Science Café Cleveland is one of hundreds globally, all held in inviting, public atmospheres with food, drink, and conversation. For more information on Science Café Cleveland, click here.
Sigma Xi, the Scientific Research Honor Society, has a mission to enhance the health of the research enterprise, foster integrity in science and engineering, and promote the public's understanding of science for the purpose of improving the human condition.
Among other activities, Sigma Xi sponsors a Distinguished Lectureship program enabling local chapters to host visits from outstanding individuals who are at the leading edge of the science in their field.
Sigma Xi also publishes American Scientist, an award-winning, illustrated, bi-monthly magazine about science, engineering, and technology. It has been published by Sigma Xi, The Scientific Research Honor Society since 1913.

This year's Sigma Xi 2018 Annual Meeting & Student Research Conference will be an outstanding event with a robust lineup of speakers on Big Data and the Future of Research! The conference will be held in San Francisco on Oct. 25–28, 2018; click here to view a flyer for the conference.

Interested in joining Sigma Xi?
Membership in Sigma Xi is by nomination and is not dependent on the nominee having a specific education degree. The first thing to do is to check out the membership page at Sigma Xi Headquarters to see if you qualify. If you do, then fill out this Word or PDF form, and send via postal or e-mail to:
