Academic Service and Outreach
- Chemistry Instructor for Cleveland High-School teachers for the NSF-Math & Science Partnership Program.
- Dr. Burda is currently teaching and advising high-school teachers in the Cleveland municipality. A comprehensive plan to improve the educational situation for children in the downtown area is being set up and new approaches are brought into Cleveland's classrooms.
- Co-Organization Meeting and Expansion of the Ohio Photochemistry Society.
- Regular meetings of photochemists in the Ohio region are being co-organized as an ACS Conference, SF, 2010.
- Co-Organization of conferences, including an IUPAC Workshop of Advanced Materials 1999 in Hong Kong; an IEEE Conference on Quantum Dot Spectroscopy 2006 in Denver; an ACS Conference on Bio-Fluorophores 2010 in San Francisco; an Electronic Device Conference on Photovoltaics 2011 in Washington; and an International Conference on Clean Energy 2012 in Xi'An, China.
- Prof. Burda has been Mentor to >20 undergraduate students and has graduated 10 Ph.D. level students so far.
