Antonio Candau (PhD. Massachusetts) specializes in contemporary Spanish literature and culture. Born in Madrid, he completed his “licenciatura” in Spanish Philology at the University of Valladolid. He has taught at the University of Valladolid, University of Massachusetts, Smith College and Southwest Texas State University. He has published the books La obra narrativa de José María Merino and Las provincias de la literatura . His articles and book reviews on contemporary Spanish poetry and prose, and on Golden Age poetry have appeared in journals like R evista de Estudios Hispánicos, Hispanic Review, Calíope, Revista Hispánica Moderna, Revista Canadiense de Estudios Hispánicos and España Contemporánea . His current project is a study about artistic representations of the Spanish street.
