During the semester I am prepared to meet individually [by appointment] with any and all students enrolled in this course.  That is especially true, however, during the first week of class and especially for students with disabilities who are registered with the Coordinator of Disability Services (368-5230) and who may need individual arrangements.

Course Objectives:
German 302 is an advanced German language course. Taught in German, this course stresses the contemporary written and spoken language. News articles, videos and audio tapes will be utilized by students to study real life situations. At the end of the semester you should be able to communicate more comfortably on selected topics in written and spoken German.

Requirements
Speaking, listening comprehension, reading, and writing are equally important. Class work is an essential part of the course and regular attendance is required and graded. Homework assignments are to prepare you for class participation. Based on homework assignments and writing strategies, there will be two (2) written reports (4-5 pages), oral presentations in class and a Final oral exam

Homework Assignments: You are expected to read pages to be covered in class. The basic homework assignment  is to learn before class the materials to be handled in class, especially  vacubulary of each chapter. Weekly written assgnments consist of part III (Übung zum Wortschatz und zur Grammatik) and part VI (Kontrolübung) of Papa, Charly hat gesagt...
and Übungen of Deutsch aktiv Neu

Written Reports: The two written reports on selected topics, considered as take-home Midterm and take-home Final, must be turned in in form of computer print-outs.

Oral Presentation: You have an oral  presentation in class. There are two forms of oral presentation: a) individual presentation (you do it yourself, 3-5 minutes) and b) pair presentation (you do it  with a partner  in form of a dialog 6-10 minutes). The topics of presentation will be assigned later.

Pop Quizzes: There might be pop vocab quizzes.

Final Oral Exam
Like the oral presentation, there are two forms of final oral exam:
a) individual presentation (you do it yourself, 5-10 minutes) and b) pair presentation (you do it  with a partner  in form of a dialog 10-20 minutes). The topics of Final oral exam will be assigned later.
