Carisa Tilton received her B.A. in Biology from Smith College and earned a PhD in Virology from a joint program between The George Washington University and the National Institutes of Health. She then went on to complete a post-doctoral fellowship in the Department of Cancer Biology at the University of Pennsylvania. Carisa moved to the Cleveland area in late 2010 and prior to her current position, she worked as a Research Associate at Case Western Reserve University where she studied HIV infection and pathogenicity. She is author and coauthor of several scientific articles stemming from her biomedical research. Carisa currently works for Medical Mutual of Ohio as a Healthcare Analyst and Policy Writer in downtown Cleveland.
