Public Transportation

The Cleveland Regional Transit Authority has completed the renovations to the Cedar-University Red Line Rapid Station. The station and bus terminal are open, but traffic patterns around the station have changed:

  • Cedar Avenue westbound has three lanes maintained, but they are much narrower;
  • A traffic light is now located at the bottom of Cedar just as you pass under the Amtrak train tracks;
  • Cedar Avenue eastbound is reduced to two lanes from Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard to Ambleside Drive/Murray Hill Road; and
  • The Cedar Road exit from Lot 1A (the parking lot behind the Case Quad) is closed; all Lot 1 traffic must enter and exit from Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.

Visitors attending commencement should expect some delays. Please continue to monitor this website and for updates.

Cleveland is easily accessible by road, rail and air. The city is served by Greyhound Bus Lines and by Amtrak.

Taxis are readily available at bus and train stations and at the airport. Car rentals are available at Cleveland Hopkins Airport; advance reservations are suggested. The Regional Transit Authority (RTA) offers local rail service connecting the airport, downtown's Tower City Center and the Case Western Reserve University campus.

To travel from the airport to campus, take the Red Line Windermere train and exit at University Circle. The ride takes approximately 40 minutes.
