Center for Adolescent Health >>

The mission of the Center for Adolescent Health is to improve the bio-psycho-social-emotional and environmental health of adolescents with a strong emphasis on the Greater Cleveland Community. The Center for Adolescent Health was established in 1991 by Case Western Reserve University's School of Medicine. The Center incorporates research, professional education, and collaboration among community agencies and programs.

Coordinating clinical and basic research activities working in areas of research including mycobacterial research, molecular and clinical virology, HIV immunology, clinical treatment trials, epidemiology, biomedical ethics, vaccine research, and international aspects of AIDS


Center for Applied Polymer Research (CAPRI) >>

CAPRI, directed by Professor Anne Hiltner, combines state-of-the-art facilities and student education with industrial collaboration in applied polymer science and engineering. The multidisciplinary collaboration has been the formula for success in probing fundamental problems in polymer structure-property relationships. Current research topics include hierarchical structures and nanolayered materials by forced-assembly.

Center for Computational Genomics >>

An interdisciplinary research center, established for enhancing the cross-departmental CWRU wide research effort towards understanding the human genome. The participating departments of the center are: Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from Case School of Engineering - and - Genetics and Biostatistics & Epidemiology from the School of Medicine.


Center for Education and Research in Cosmology and Astrophysics (CERCA) >>

This center will develop resources to continue the world class experimental and theoretical research programs in these areas at CWRU, while working in close partnership with the Shafran Planetarium at the Cleveland Museum of Natural History , and with other institutions to help develop first-rate popular programming to help disseminate information on cosmology and astrophysics to the public.


Center for Evidence-Based Practices (EBPs)>>

The Center for Evidence-Based Practices (EBPs) is a technical-assistance organization that promotes knowledge development and the implementation of EBPs for the treatment and recovery of people with severe mental illness and co-occurring severe mental and substance use disorders. The Center also implements and studies emerging best practices in an effort to identify innovations that consistently generate improved outcomes and, thus, may become an EBP.

The Center for International Health (newly reorganized as the Center for Global Health and Diseases) was established in 1987 as a coordinating structure to help link the numerous international health resources of the University, its affiliated institutions, and the Northern Ohio community in a multidisciplinary program of research, training and clinical application related to global health.

Center for Modeling Integrated Metabolic Systems >>

The Center for Modeling Integrated Metabolic Systems (MIMS) combines mathematical modeling, computer simulation, and in vivo experimentation to quantify relationships between cellular metabolism and physiological responses of tissue-organ systems and the whole body. This involves many inter-disciplinary research teams from Case Western Reserve University , Cleveland State University , and University Hospitals of Cleveland.

The Center has been building and will continue to expand its community of researchers interested in the structure and function of RNA.  The primary faculty in the Center for RNA Molecular Biology and faculty housed in several other university and Cleveland Clinic departments form a cohesive, highly interactive group.

OHIO SAMI CCOE >>

The Ohio Substance Abuse and Mental Illness Coordinating Center of Excellence (Ohio SAMI CCOE) is a partnership between the Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences at CWRU and the Department of Psychiatry at the CWRU School of Medicine. It is in collaboration with the Ohio Department of Mental Health. The Ohio SAMI CCOE helps mental health agencies and substance abuse agencies throughout the State of Ohio develop and enhance services to persons with co-occurring mental and substance use disorders by supporting the implementation of the New Hampshire-Dartmouth Dual Disorder Integrated Treatment (DDIT) model.
