Gabrielle Buffington is the Department Assistant in the Office for Inclusion, Diversity and Equal Opportunity.
She previously served as a student worker at the Cleveland Hillel Foundation during her college career. Her introduction to administrative work in a nonprofit organization inspired her to continue her career as an employee at the university.
Gabrielle has a deep appreciation for programs within the Arts and Humanities spectrum. She is an avid writer, with many of her news stories and poems published in The Observer and the Case Reserve Review, respectively. She was also a presenter for the Cleveland Museum of Art’s Mardi Gras Mix in February 2016, where she performed Paul Laurence Dunbar’s poem We Wear the Mask and analyzed the painting Bedtime by Charles Sallée Jr. for touring guests.
Outside of her artistic accomplishments, she has dedicated her time to engaging in dialogues with those who visit the campus. She served as a Baker-Nord Center for Humanities Undergraduate Affiliate who attended department seminars and led discussion panels for visiting prospective students. She was also selected to sit on an Admissions Panel where prospective students asked her questions about the university’s curriculum options and campus environment.
She is a 2016 Case Western Reserve University alum who received her BA in English.
