American Music Masters, co-production of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum and the College of Arts and Sciences at Case Western Reserve University, celebrates the lives and careers of artists (including past honorees Les Paul, Jerry Lee Lewis, Bessie Smith and Sam Cooke) who changed the shape and sound of American culture.

The first woman inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Aretha Franklin’s powerful voice brought soul to pop music, charting 45 top 40 singles since 1961—more than any other female performer. She’s recorded 20 No. 1 singles, won 18 Grammys and sung at the inaugurations of two U.S. presidents—Bill Clinton and Barack Obama.

Music Masters honors her contribution with "Lady Soul: The Life and Music of
Aretha Franklin” Oct. 31-Nov. 5.
