The Ceremony

Each year the Inamori International Center for Ethics and Excellence gathers the community to honor an international exemplar of ethical leadership with the Inamori Ethics Prize.

The 2013 ceremony will honor entrepreneur Yvon Chouinard, founder of the premier outdoor gear and clothing company, Patagonia, Inc. A legendary rock climber and avid outdoorsman, Chouinard is a global leader in corporate social responsibility with a keen focus on protecting the planet. He has channeled his personal passion for the natural world into a successful enterprise that sets a high standard for ethical practices.

This annual ceremony offers audiences the opportunity to learn more about the Inamori Center, meet the director and witness the conferring of the Inamori Ethics Prize to the year’s recipient. Presentation of the prize citation and medal is followed by the Inamori Ethics Prize recipient’s public lecture, which covers the recipient’s work and ethical leadership, as well as the challenges of a global society.

An Academic Symposium, featuring the prize recipient as a member of a panel, precedes the ceremony. Refer to the full event schedule for times and locations.
