What is Uptown?
Uptown is a one-of-a-kind residential, arts and entertainment district at the intersection of Euclid Avenue and Mayfield Road in University Circle.
Phase one is a $44.5 million project raised from private and public sources, designed by award winning architect Stanley Saitowitz. Uptown includes 114 housing units and 56,000 square feet dedicated to retail and restaurants. Case Western Reserve University is the anchor tenant of the project, which includes Barnes & Noble bookstore and Constantino's Market. Thanks to a gift from distinguished alumna, Toby Devan Lewis, the university was able to create the adjacent plaza. Toby's Plaza is as a cultural hub connecting the Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA) with the south side of Uptown. Uptown Alley is a unique and walkable street connecting the entire Uptown project to Triangle Apartments, also owned by Case Western Reserve.
