The worldwide food press has hailed Cleveland as the "hot new dining city," with top nods for new restaurants, farm-to-table operations, ethnic foods and neighborhood eateries, while a number of the city's arts communities, including Tremont, Ohio City, Detroit Shoreway and Collinwood, have garnered national attention.

Culture

Cleveland is the birthplace of rock-n-roll, and Case Western Reserve's ties with the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum—just minutes away—gives students a chance learn and enjoy popular music and its roots right in their own backyard.

Sports

Clevelanders are famous for their commitment to their local teams. The Cleveland Cavaliers, Cleveland Browns and Cleveland Indians, Lake Erie Monsters and Cleveland Gladiators, play downtown and sometimes offer special student discounts.

Performance

Students are encouraged to take in a show at Playhouse Square, the largest performing arts center outside of New York, and many frequent downtown comedy clubs like Pickwick and Frolic and take in concerts at the House of Blues and Nautica Pavilion.
