Assistant Director of Education Abroad
Sara Spiegler advises students on the various study, intern, research, and co-op abroad options available through the Office of Education Abroad and at CWRU. She also works with faculty to streamline credit transfers and establish study abroad programs that meet the needs of their academic programs and develops additional programs to further internationalization and global citizenship at CWRU.
Sara previously served as Exchange Program Manager at Georgia Tech, working directly with academic units across the campus on curriculum integration to ensure that GA Tech students could participate in study abroad without delaying progress toward graduation. She also served as Study Abroad Advisor at The University of Texas at Austin, where she managed all aspects of a diverse set of study abroad program offerings for five years. Sara earned her B.A. in International Studies and Spanish from Southern Methodist University and her M.A. in European Regional and Minority Cultures from University College Dublin. As an undergraduate student, Sara spent 2 summers in Xalapa and Puebla, Mexico, as well as 2 semesters in Madrid and Valladolid, Spain.
