Jorge Almeida Guimarães, President of CAPES, Brazilian Agency for Support and Evaluation of Graduate Education Comes to CWRU

Jorge Almeida Guimarães, President of CAPES, Brazilian Agency for Support and Evaluation of Graduate Education, visited Case Western Reserve University on August 14-15. Professor Guimarães’ visit presents Case Western Reserve University with a unique opportunity to build stronger educational, research and personal ties with Brazilian intuitions.

CAPES, is an agency within the Brazilian Ministry of Education and is responsible for sending 100,000 undergraduate, graduate and medical, dental, nursing and other students abroad through a program known as Science without borders. In addition, CAPES is responsible for creating partnerships overseas, including funding for faculty, research, and more.
Case Western Reserve University has been working to create university-wide relationships in Brazil; with universities, foundations, industry and government. This visit allowed Professor Guimarães to observe and examine the world-class research and education offered at Case Western Reserve University.
