Program Overview

The CWRU in London program offers students the unique opportunity to pursue an academic study of four key timemarks in European dramatic arts history while sharpening theatrical skills in classes led by the world-famous faculty at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts.

RADA students spend little time sitting around in lectures. The elite faculty believes that skills need to be practiced to achieve expertise. CWRU in London students are fully engaged in the unique and exciting RADA experience from day one.

In their free time, students will be fully immersed in the rich culture of London, one of the world’s most visited and exciting cities. The CWRU in London program is truly a one-of-a-kind experience!

Timemark 1: Athens, 534 BC: the year in which drama enters the Dionysian Festivals.

Timemark 2: London, 1576: the year in which the first London playhouse was built.

Timemark 3: Paris, 1658: the year in which Molière's company becomes based in Le Petit Bourbon.

Timemark 4: Berlin, 1928: the year in which Brecht and Weill’s Threepenny Opera is premiered.


CWRU and non-CWRU students of all majors with a 3.0 or above are invited to apply.

Students will receive 15 credit hours for the following courses: THTR 301, 302, 303, 304, and 305.


CWRU semester tuition + $5,500 program fee.

Program Fee includes: tuition, housing, orientations, and in-country support.

Program Fee does not include: Flights, visas/passports, and meals.

Scholarships and Funding

CWRU students may apply their financial aid to this semester study abroad program. Non-CWRU students should consult with their school's financial aid office.
