This course introduces students to the Italian language. Participants study basic language skills, including comprehension, speaking, reading and writing, with emphasis on the present tense. Additional focus will be on the mastery of the sound system and basic sentence structure of spoken and written Italian.

This course builds upon Intermediate French II. Students focus on the subtleties of French phonology, morphology and syntax, along with the development of advanced vocabulary and conversational techniques. The goal is to have students be able to use the language effectively and fluently.

This course is an expansion of French I. Strong emphasis is placed on reinforcing the four key skills of language acquisition: listening, speaking, reading and writing. Students also continue to learn about the cultural and linguistic diversity of the French-speaking world through a variety of print documents and multimedia resources.

In this introductory course, students develop a strong foundation in vocabulary and grammar. Participants are introduced to all four of the key skills for language acquisition: listening, speaking, reading and writing. Stress is placed on building vocabulary power and acquiring basic grammatical concepts so that students gradually gain confidence in expressing themselves effectively in French. Students also learn about the cultural diversity of the French-speaking world.

Over the course of our studies students will be exposed to the sights and sounds of the original Hebrew letters appearing in the the Bible. Students will have multiple opportunities to absorb the content using various activities, games and manipulatives. No prior knowledge of Hebrew is necessary. Necessary Materials: binder/folder and a Chumash Beresheit/Book of Genesis in the original Hebrew

An informal discussion for Cleveland's Hebrew speakers. Join author Ayelet Tsabari who will speak about her work and life growing up Mizrahi in Israel and as an Israeli writer in North America. Registration Required by May 3. Tea and pastries will be served.
