CTN OBJECTIVES


  • Interface between basic/clinical scientists and basic/biotech/pharma

  • Take advantage of development opportunities

  • Promote initiatives:
    1. Ohio Neural Technology Network (ONTN) - Ohio Research Scholar Program Grant Application (Third Frontier Program): The ONTN will join eight Universities and hospitals across Ohio in a consortium that will provide an integrated, interdisciplinary, multi-institutional partnership to speed development of new technologies that restore neural functions. Submitted February 2008.
    2. Neural Cell Core - Concept: make neural cell preparations available for research purposes to any researcher
    3. Brain Tumor Consortium - an intellectual unification of the different local brain tumor groups which will actively promote and facilitate the involvement of "non-brain tumor scientists" in the study of brain tumor biology
    4. Neurobiology of Disease - Translational Neurosciences graduate course including clinician and basic scientist lecturers - to begin Fall 2008
