Apply to our Emergency Medicine Residency Program

Our Faculty | Residents: 1st Year | 2nd Year | 3rd Year | Guest Speaker: Dr. Antonia Novello

Second year residents begin to have more autonomy in the Emergency Department (ED) but still have close supervision by the ED Attending staff. You will also begin your hands-on experience with critical care transport, where you regularly serve as the flight physician with UH MedEvac and as the participating physician with EMS. Outside of the work duties, you can join the other two classes at the monthly "Switch and Swallow*."

You can also learn more about us through our new social website, ResidentBook.

* The "Switch and Swallow" is a dinner party that generally occurs at the 'switch' of rotations and is an opportunity to 'swallow' delicious food and libations.

I like being outdoors skiing, white water rafting, and camping as well playing soccer, basketball, racquetball, and golf. But admittedly I need my downtime too andI enjoy stand-up comedy, jazz music and reading comic books. I am an avid sports fan - a proud Buffalo Bills and Sabres superfan but to go along with the Yankees and Knicks (as you can tell I am from New York - though that doesn't change my level of excitement for Lebron coming back to northeast Ohio). As you can see my interests span a broad range and Cleveland provides me the opportunity to pursue all of these, and more.

Fun Facts:

I couples matched here at UH with my girlfriend (resident in psychiatry); I would like to pursue a career in pediatric Emergency Medicine, as well as working globally and with a special interest in working with underserved populations. Fourtuantely, the resources at UH allow me explore all of these options and more while in residency. A fun fact about me is that I've seen every Simpsons episode at least twice.
