Extracranial Vertebral Artery Stenosis - Case 3

A 74 year-old woman presented with spells of diplopia, slurred speech and an unsteady gait. Her neurological examination was normal.

Outline the Vertebral Stenosis

Extracranial Vertebral Stenosis: Angiogram of the right subclavian artery; (Left) Baseline film; (Right) Post-angioplasty and stent film. Note the high grade stenosis at the origin of the vertebral artery. After stenting, normal flow was re-established, and the patient's symptoms resolved.
