Inferior Cerebellar Infarction - Case 2

A 55 year-old woman presented with vertigo, nausea and vomiting. Examination showed right sided ataxia, slurred speech, and nystagmus.

Outline the Infarction

Inferior Cerebellar Infarction: Flair axial MRIs. Note the bright signal in the inferior cerebellum, in the distribution of the posterior inferior cerebellar artery (PICA). Strokes in this location are often misdiagnosed in the emergency room as gastroenteritis.
