Basilar Artery Aneurysm - Case 1 - Post Coiling

A 45 year-old man developed the lightning onset of an explosive headache followed by coma.

Outline the Aneurysm Post-Coiling

Subarachnoid Hemorrhage - Basilar Artery Aneurysm. Cerebral Angiogram, Left vertebral artery injection. (Left) AP view; (Right) Lateral view. Note that the large aneurysm is no longer visible. The aneurysm was treated by endovascular therapy. A microcatheter was placed within the aneurysm followed by packing the aneurysm with Guglielmi Detachable Coil (GDC)s. During this procedure, increasingly smaller radiopaque platinum coils are placed into the aneurysm through a microcatheter, and a small current is passed through the delivery wire, a process which eventually obliterates the cavity.
