Primary Intraventricular Hemorrhage - Case 1

A 46 year-old man presented with a sudden, severe headache, nausea and vomiting.

Outline the Intraventricular Blood

Primary Intraventricular Hemorrhage. Axial CT scan without contrast. Note the intraventricular hemorrhage with the layering of blood in the occipital horns. Most often, intraventricular hemorrhage occurs in the setting of subarachnoid hemorrhage and diffusion of blood into the ventricles. In other cases, it occurs as a primary phenomenon, presumably from a bleeding source near the ventricular lining.
