About
The Molecular Biology (MB) Module facilitates the use of fundamental techniques in molecular biology for the many vision investigators who desire to add these tools to their research capabilities as well as for investigators who already use some of these techniques. The MB Module is responsible for providing skilled technical expertise, equipment and techniques for PCR analysis/genotyping, quantification and imaging of gels, real time PCR and central storage of bacteria.

The module is currently supporting 10 investigators while genotyping approximately 50 strains of mice. In 2009-2010, the module has processed approximately 2,000 samples per month.

How to Utilize
1) Please call Anna Yakubenko at 368-4990 to discuss if you are a first time user
2) Fill out Genotyping Request Form and email it to Anna or bring in with samples

Pricing Information
Genotyping: $1.25/PCR reaction for members, $2.50/PCR reaction for non-members
qPCR: $10.00/run for members, $20.00/run for non-members
