Part-Time Research Fellowships for Preceptors
The
CWRU Department of Family Medicine is offering part-time research fellowships to family physicians who precept CWRU medical students (or who would be interested in starting to precept students). The purpose is prepare preceptors to integrate methods for clinical inquiry into everyday practice and teaching. The program marries what is most engaging and energizing about primary care with the experience of generating new knowledge in practice.
The fellowships are for a period of 10 months, from January through October. Participation requires an average of 4 hours of time per week including instruction and mentoring by CWRU faculty. Fellows will participate in a mentored group research project and will receive support and assistance developing their own research project. Each fellow will receive a stipend of up to $14,000.
Family physicians who precept CWRU medical students or who are interested in starting to precept are invited to apply. Two will be selected each year.
