On-Call
All fellows share the on-call responsibility. Calls are taken from home, with the expectation that the fellow will come in to see patients in the Pediatric Emergency Room and on Pediatric Inpatient units if such services are needed. Fellow on call does not work the next afternoon.
Supervision
Faculty attendings are present for every rotation. The resident receives expert supervision specific for that rotation.
Curriculum
There are 5 hours of didactics every week and residents participate in all didactic sessions. The curriculum emphasizes interview and assessment skills, as well as current knowledge of diagnoses and treatment of psychiatric disorders of children and adolescents. Didactics also include courses on development, psychopharmacology, cognitive behavioral therapy, consultation-liaison, and cultural diversity.
