Highlights of Current or Recent Neurosciences Department Trainees

Dr. Crystal Miller (Neurosciences PhD, 2010, advisor: Dr. Heather Broihier) was appointed the Director of Research and the Kettering Fund Chair in Science Research at the Hathaway Brown School in Shaker Heights, OH. As the Kettering Fund Chair in Science Research at Hathaway Brown, Dr. Miller will play an instrumental role in shaping the education and training of HS age girls in STEM fields by leading the Hathaway Brown Science Research & Engineering Program (SREP). In this position Dr. Miller is a leading force in STEM outreach in the Cleveland area and Dr. Miller has already begun to actively facilitate the training of SREP students in numerous Department of Neurosciences laboratories at CWRU, as well as with our colleagues at the Cleveland Clinic, where before taking charge of the SREP, Dr. Miller was a postdoctoral scholar with Dr. Bruce Lamb. Concurrent with her primary role as SREP director, Dr. Miller also holds the positions of Visiting Scientist at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner Research Institute and Adjust Instructor at Case Western Reserve University.
