Cytopathology Fellowship

Description: The Cytopathology Fellowship Program of University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center provides extensive training in diagnostic cytopathology utilizing an annual volume of about 28,000 gynecologic and 5,000 non-gynecologic specimens from the outpatient and inpatient clinical services of an over 1,000 bed teaching hospital and a comprehensive Cancer Center. The training involves active participation in signing out, teaching, fine needle aspiration, quality assurance, and research activities of the laboratory. It is complemented by a cytopathology lecture course given over a three-month period. The fellow will have the opportunity to rotate in affiliated community hospitals, dedicated research and up to 6 weeks of elective time.

Requirements: Applicants must have completed requirements for primary certification in AP or AP/CP before the start of this fellowship.

Types and Numbers of Appointments: One Fellowship is available per year.

Stipend: The stipend is based on the applicant's postgraduate level.
