Dr. Dubyak is a Professor of Physiology and Biophysics, Oncology, Pharmacology, and Pathology at Case Western Reserve University. He is also the Director of the Biomedical Sciences Training Program (BSTP). His laboratory studies proinflammatory signaling responses triggered by extracellular ATP and other DAMPs, predominantly in murine models including mice with genetic deletion of various P2 receptors and inflammasome proteins.
Richard Zigmond, PhD

Dr. Zigmond is a Professor of Neurosciences, Neurosurgery, Pathology, and National Center for Regenerative Medicine at Case Western Reserve University. His laboratory studies plasticity in the adult nervous system. The focus on alterations that occur in response to neural damage and changes in the neural activity.
Carlos Subauste, MD
Dr. Carlos Subauste was the recipient of the 2015 PREP Mentor of the Year Award. He has mentored PREP Scholar: Yalitza Corcino (2014). Dr. Subauste is a Professor of Medicine, Ophthalmology, and Pathology at Case Western Reserve University. Dr. Subauste's laboratory studies how CD40 confers protection against pathogens. The main focus is to determine how CD40 stimulates autophagy to kill T. gondii and the strategies used by the parasite to avoid autophagic killing.
