Student Rotations

The Department offers several different opportunities for interested students. Informal observerships can be arranged as requested for students at any level of training. More formal clerkships are designed for students in their 3rd or 4th years. These can be either two weeks or four weeks in duration. Courses Offered 

RAON 4002A Clinical Radiation Oncology

Description: OBJECTIVE 1: To acquaint the student with the role of the radiation oncologist in the multidisciplinary management of oncology patients. 2. To have the student develop an appreciation for the biologic behavior of the neoplastic disorders. 3. To allow the student to become familiar with the various modalities available for treatment in radiation oncology. DUTIES: Students will work directly with the attending and resident staff in the evaluation and management of the patients referred to radiation oncology for consultation and treatment. In addition, students will be expected to attend numerous multi-disciplinary conferences. The student will be required to present one 20-minute talk on a clinical management topic towards the end of their rotation. PREREQUISITE: Completion of core curriculum in Medicine and Pediatrics.
