Residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology

The residency in OB/GYN at University Hospitals MacDonald Women’s Hospital, is a fully accredited medium-sized university program housed in one of the only free standing women’s hospitals in the country.  Excellence in education and research is strongly encouraged and supported by our faculty. In addition to the standard curriculum, our program offers each resident two six-week elective rotations: one each in the PGY3 and PGY4 years.  Our global health scholars tract and designation as a Ryan residency program further sets us apart.  UH residents obtain excellent surgical training from a variety of subspecialists and one of the largest academic generalist groups in the country.  Furthermore, their obstetric experience is noted for its high volume and high acuity, as well as access to the largest midwifery practice in the region.  Our focus on quality, safety and teamwork ensure that our residents have the skills necessary to become future leaders in healthcare.
