Medical School Teams with Great Lakes Science Center on Health Education
The Clinical Translational Science Collaborative (CTSC) at the School of Medicine is developing programs and exhibits with the Great Lakes Science Center to help educate students about health issues like diabetes, obesity and cardiovascular disease. The collaboration is funded by a $1.25-million Science Education Partnership Award from the NIH.
"Case Western Reserve School of Medicine and the CTSC are pleased to have the opportunity to improve science literacy in our community by sharing research and scientific expertise from the lab with students," says Pamela B. Davis, MD, PhD, dean of the School of Medicine and principal investigator of the CTSC. "We aim to provide the students at the Great Lakes Science Center with experiences that will help shape their understanding of health issues faced by many children and adolescents today."
