Robert L. Findling, MD
Professor of Psychiatry & Pediatrics Director, Child and Adolescent Psychiatry
Dr. Findling is the Rocco L. Motto, MD Chair of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. Dr. Findling is also the Director of the Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at University Hospitals Case Medical Center. Dr. Findling earned his undergraduate degree at Johns Hopkins University and went to medical school at the Medical College of Virginia. Dr. Findling then completed a triple board joint residency-training program in Pediatrics, Psychiatry, and Child & Adolescent Psychiatry at Mt. Sinai Hospital in New York City. He is currently enrolled in the Trium Global Executive M.B.A. program.
Dr. Findling's research endeavors have focused on pediatric psychopharmacology and serious psychiatric disorders in the young. Dr. Findling has been honored with numerous awards and has received both national and international recognition as a clinical investigator.
Dr. Findling is the principal investigator on a NICHD contract that is comprehensively examining lithium in the treatment of pediatric mania. In addition, Dr. Findling is the principal investigator of an NIMH study that is assessing the longitudinal course of children with manic symptoms. He is also the site principal investigator of an NIMH-supported clinical trial that is examining the treatment of children with severe aggression. Dr. Findling's research is also supported in part by the Stanley Medical Research Institute and the pharmaceutical industry.
