Michael M. Lederman, MD is the Scott R. Inkley Professor of Medicine at Case Western Reserve University. Dr. Lederman graduated from Brandeis University in 1970 and went on to medical school at Mt. Sinai School of Medicine in NYC and graduated in 1974. Dr. Lederman has served as intern, resident, chief resident in Medicine and fellow in Infectious Diseases at Case Western Reserve University where he joined the faculty in 1980.
At CWRU School of Medicine, he now leads a large clinical and laboratory research team that is exploring the pathogenesis of HIV-related immune deficiency and is testing strategies to prevent infection and to restore immune defenses in this disease.
Dr. Lederman has authored more than 250 peer-reviewed articles. He currently is a member of the American Association of Immunologists, the Infectious Diseases Society of America, the HIV Medicine Association and is a councilor of the Clinical Immunology Society. He is on the editorial boards of AIDS, the Journal of AIDS and Clinical Immunology.
