John Bansek

John joined 121 Fitness in 2017. He ‌is a 2016 graduate of Cleveland State University where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science. He is also a certified personal trainer through the National Council on Strength and Fitness (NCSF-CPT).  John enjoys working with all populations and loves to help his clients reach their goals. He will be teaching our Hips, Buns, and Thighs class and HardCORE class as well as other classes. Outside of 1-2-1, John enjoys traveling and spending time outdoors, following Cleveland sports, and hanging out with friends and family.

Jason Chuhay

Jason joined the 121 Fitness Training Staff in 2008.  His credentials include being a National Strength and Conditioning Association Certified Personal Trainer, Road Runners Club of America Certified Running Coach, CrossFit Level 1 Trainer, Crossfit Level 1 Endurance Trainer, TRX Suspension Trainer Qual 1, TRX Suspension Functional Trainer Qual 1, Kettlebell Concepts Level 1 Instructor, Jump Stretch Flex Band Instructor, and USA Track and Field Level 1 Coach. Jason also coordinates the 121 Fitness Running Club and instructs TRX, Kettlebell, High Intensity Interval Training and HardCORE classes. He ensures that each individual feels confident and well-informed about their exercise training techniques. Jason specializes in building stamina, bone density, balance and coordination, flexibility, self-confidence, and overall strength. His training philosophy is centered through intensified, functional exercise to obtain efficient, full-body workouts. During his free time he enjoys being outdoors, reading, listening to all kinds of music, and competes in road races throughout the year. 

 

David Ellis

David is a 2016 graduate of the National Personal Training Institute.  A professional cellist and conductor, as well as Personal Trainer, David graduated from the Oberlin Conservatory in 2013, and now freelances both in Cleveland and around the United States.  David is involved in Personal Training as one enthusiastic about general fitness, but especially how it has helped and improved his career in music.  His interests, specifically, revolve around gaining muscular strength and endurance to establish healthy posture and movement, be it to help in one’s practicing of a musical instrument, or to help any person prevent aches and pains from any repetitive activity. David likes to spend his free time watching films and following Cleveland sports.

Dan Freshwater

Dan joined the 121 Fitness Training Staff in 2008. He holds a BS in Sports Management/ Business and is an Accredited Certified Personal Trainer through the National Council on Strength & Fitness (NCSF-CPT). Dan’s clients have succeeded with weight loss, gaining muscle mass, injury prevention, race training, toning, and enhancing general fitness levels. He enjoys making each client’s routine specific and functional to their life and/or sport. Dan has specialized training in low back and core strengthening, stretching and flexibility and working with special populations (pregnancy, obesity, diabetes, and arthritis). He also leads our Hips, Buns & Thighs, HardCORE and Cardio Muscle Group Exercise classes. His drive is to see others achieve maximum success in their individual goals. Outside of 1-2-1 Fitness, Dan enjoys golfing and spending time with his family.

Sean Giguere

Sean joined the 121 Fitness Training Staff in June 2006. He has a BS in Exercise Science from the University of Toledo and an MA in Exercise Physiology from Kent State University. He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) from the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), Certified Powerhouse Pilates Reformer Instructor, and Kettlebell Concepts Level 1 Instructor. Sean has experience working with all populations and enjoys training individuals to achieve their goals. He designs a personalized program that will allow his clients to quickly and safely reach their goals. He strives to make exercise effective and fun through dynamic/functional interval training. He wants to earn your trust while providing the support and motivation you need to get into the best shape of your life. When not training at 121, Sean competes in flag football, basketball, and tennis leagues.

Pamela Houston

Pamela joined the 121 Fitness Training Staff in April of 2017. She has been a Trainer & Fitness Consultant for over 25 years. She recently moved back to Ohio from California in the fall of 2016 where she was a Master Trainer and Traveling Group Exercise Instructor for a Fortune 500 company in Hollywood, California. Her credentials includes being an International Sports Science Association and Lifetime University Personal Trainer and Specialized Youth and Children's Trainer. Pamela obtains many special certifications, and has the experience to help you reach your goals! Pamela’s philosophy is helping her clients take back ownership of their bodies and lives 1 workout at a time through discipline, dedication, and consistency. She currently teaches at both Uptown Cycle, as a cycling instructor, and at 121 Fitness as a group exercise instructor. During Pamela's free time, she enjoys being a single mom to her 17 year old son and caregiver to her parents. She also loves to take walks with her best friend: her dachshund "George Costanca."

Alex Noell

Alex joined the 121 fitness team in December of 2014. He graduated from the University of North Carolina at Asheville with a BS in Health and Wellness Promotion in 2012 and is certified through the National Strength and Conditioning Association as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS). Alex’s goal as a trainer is to enable his clients to make healthy choices both inside and outside of the gym, and he believes education plays a key role in living a healthy lifestyle. He has experience working with a variety of populations and has worked with all experience levels, from beginners to division I college athletes. During his free time Alex enjoys fishing, archery, hiking, and spending time with his wife and family.

Nick Oreh

Nick joined the 121 Fitness team in July, 2014 as an Assistant Manager and Personal Trainer. He served 6 years in the U.S. Navy as a Construction Mechanic in the SeaBees. Nick graduated from Cleveland State University with a Bachelor of Science in Education majoring as an Exercise/Fitness Specialist. He is currently working towards certifications as Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) from NSCA and Level 1 Sports Performance Coach (USAW-L1SP) from USA Weightlifting Nick enjoys sports, exercising, video games, and spending time with his wife and son.

Ben Parks

Ben has been a part of the 121 Fitness team since 2005.  He currently holds certifications through the NSCA, USA Powerlifting, and Hardstyle Kettlebell Club and previously held certifications through CrossFit and USA Weightlifting.  Ben takes a calculated approach to training people of all levels. His training styles focuses on a balance of exercise technique, structured programming,  rest, recovery, to promote long term success.   Ben played sports growing up, and spent about 15 years training in various styles of martial arts. He competed for 3 years in both Muay Thai and MMA cage fighting. Ben currently participates in powerlifting competitions as a class 1 competitor in the USAPL. He was the USAPL State Champion in 2014 and 2016, as well as the Midwest Regional Champion in 2016.   Outside of the gym, Ben enjoys spending time with his wife Melissa, and 5 year old daughter, Lizza.

Melissa Parks

Melissa joined the 121 Fitness Training Staff in February 2007. She holds certifications through Level 1 Kettlebell Concepts and Level 1 CrossFit, and is also a USA Powerlifting Club Coach. Melissa trained for a couple of years in the sport of Muay Thai, competed once, and also met husband Ben Parks. Melissa feels it is important to teach her clients the correct technique and form when it comes to exercise so that they can have fun, feel safe, get stronger, and see results all at the same time. She likes to teach her clients the importance of strength training and how to set performance goals. Melissa likes to motivate her clients by giving them intense and diverse workouts and is rewarded when her clients reach their goals or exceed their expectations of themselves. She works with all ages and fitness levels and will gear the workout towards the client's goals and interests. Developing Type 1 Diabetes from her pregnancy in 2011 has given Melissa a different approach to health and exercise, and she would be happy to work with people with Diabetes to help them stay strong and healthy. When Melissa is not working, she is at the gym working towards her goals and enjoys spending time with her husband Ben and 5 year old daughter.

Scott Willis

‌‌Scott joined 1-2-1 Fitness in 2016.  He graduated from John Carroll University with a Bachelor of Arts in Exercise Science.  He is now enrolled at California University of Pennsylvania to pursue a Master of Exercise Science.  Scott also holds a Performance Enhancement Specialist certficiation from NASM and Certified Speed Specialist certification from NASE.  He has been involved in athletics all his life and knows how to maximize performance at an elite level, prevent injuries, and rehabilitate from existing injuries.  Scott’s goal as a Personal Trainer is to help clients incorporate exercise into activities of daily living to create a lifestyle centered around fitness.  His philosophy on fitness is that exercise should reflect each individual’s goals.  By making exercise fun, Scott motivates clients to achieve their goals by tackling them head-on.  When not working at 1-2-1, Scott is likely studying for classes, following Cleveland sports, and spending time with family.
