Spencier is a third year doctoral student in the Department of Sociology at Case Western Reserve University with a specialized track in Social Inequalities. Born and raised in Cleveland, Spencier traveled off to Miami University to receive her two Bachelors Degrees in Women, Gender and Sexuality and Social Justice with an Associates in Philosophy. Coming back to Cleveland, Spencier pursued her Masters Degree in Sociology at Cleveland State University and recently graduated with her M.A in Spring 2015. Spencier enjoys continuing her focus in Gender and Sexualities, and has recently been researching the lived experience of abortion patients within counseling room sessions. Outside of her role as the vice-president of the Sociology Graduate Student Association (SGSA), Spencier spends most of her free time reading dystopian and historical fiction, powerlifting, and hiking.
