Riding the wave of a historic presidential election, reeling from what have been arguably the worst economic times since World War II and continuing to come to terms with the hurricane that exemplified the social and environmental costs wrought by inequality, Americans continue to look for answers to a timeless and elusive question: What kind of society do we want to live in?

groups of studentsBanding together to understand systemic inequality and advance just solutions, Case Western Reserve University's Social Justice Institute provides a framework for transformative interdisciplinary alliances; builds trust with and improves our neighborhood; and cultivates tomorrow's social change leaders.

One of the pillars of Case Western Reserve University's five-year strategic plan, Forward Thinking, and winning seed funding from the Provost's Interdiscipilinary Alliance Investment Grant, the university-wide institute advances education, research and community engagement that inspire creative, sustainable and—most importantly—just solutions to societal problems. We invite you to learn more about the institute and get to know our team.
