Recognizing and Rewarding Sustainability

Commuter Choice Award

The Northeast Ohio Areawide Coordinating Agency (NOACA) awarded CWRU the Gold Status in their Commuter Choice Award program both in 2016 (visit our news story for more info) and 2015 for being a regional leader for fostering environmentally friendly transportation options.  CWRU was also awarded the distinction of being "Most Improved."  

CWRU received the Bronze Status from NOACA in 2014, the first year of the award program.  

Princeton Review’s Green Guide

CWRU has been included in every printing of the Princeton Review’s Green Guide since its inception in 2010. This guide scores schools according to their work in sustainability and only includes those with high rankings. Visit our news page to read stories about our scores.

Sierra Club Cool Schools

Case Western Reserve has been listed among Sierra Club Cool Schools in every year since 2010 with a break in 2011. This list of schools also scores institutions of higher education according to their work in sustainability and only includes those with high rankings. AASHE

Case Western Reserve Univeristy is a charter member of the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE) and is a Sustainability Tracking, Assessment & Rating System (STARS) reporter.

ACUPCC

CWRU's President Barbara Snyder signed the American College and University Presidents' Climate Commitment in 2010.
