Shariq Ali is a principal at Algebra AEC and specialized in high performance building design and energy conservation through behavior modification. His experience encompasses a variety of building types, including higher education, theaters, and healthcare. Shariq’s experience on LEED projects and the evaluation of energy conservation measures lead to an interest in reducing energy use through zero-cost methods. This interest lead him to create an app that educates users on what to do at home to reduce energy consumption. This start-up with Case Western Reserve University has been funded since 2013 by the US Department of Energy’s Building Technology Office, where Mr. Ali is a fellow.
In addition to Shariq’s work at Algebra AEC and his start-up with Case Western Reserve University, he is also involved with multiple programs within the Office for Sustainability including Green Labs, School Report Card, and Campus Conservation Nationals.
