Sustainability House

In the Fall of 2017, CWRU opened a new housing option for upperclassmen undergrads, the Sustainability House. Also called Wade Manor, the house is located at the corner of Wade Park Ave. and East 115th Ave. The house has five to six bedrooms, three and a half bathrooms and large common spaces, including living room, sun porch, dining room, and a full kitchen.

During their time in the house, students live as an intentional living community dedicated to sustainability. They create individual and house-wide green lifestyle goals as well as collect and monitor energy usage data, water usage, measure trash and recycling output and any other eco-lifestyle data they find. Students will research and provide renovation suggestions to the house to make it a greener place to live and study. In the future, students will monitor renovations made to the house to track effectiveness of renovations. Additionally, students plan outreach events at the house to educate the campus community about their lifestyle.
