By the entrance of Case Western Reserve's Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences, a bronze sculpture by renowned contemporary artist George Segal has found a fitting new home. The Homeless is a daily reminder of the school's commitment to community-building, social justice and activism. The work was commissioned by philanthropist Peter Putnam and donated to the university by the Mildred Andrews Fund, which supports higher education and art. Segal, who died in 2000, created the piece in 1989.
