Setting Norming Behavior in the Classroom

Setting expectations, modeling good behavior, and establishing classroom norms contribute to the creation of a safe learning environment.  During this UCITE event, Nicole Deming, (School of Medicine) will review some non-negotiables for the classroom and discuss strategies that faculty can use to deal with issues that  develop during the semester.   Attendees will also discuss methods to improve their students’ ability to exchange ideas with one's peers in classroom discussions.
 
This event will be from 11:30-12:30 (to match the academic time grid) on on Thursday, September 7, and will be held in the Herrick Room, which is on the ground floor of the Allen building (at the corner of Adelbert and Euclid). Pizza lunch and sodas will be provided at this session.
