Developing an Influential Presence

Date Released: 3 March 2016
What is influence? How can we develop and best use it? How does it come into play in communicating to others, either in the classroom or outside? How can we use emotional intelligence to help us in using this influence?  How can you use influence as part of the negotiating process?

All of these questions will be  answered and you'll have a chance to use a surefire method of getting your point across in a small group exercise.

During this UCITE session, Susan Freimark, the Acting Director of the Flora Stone Mather Center for Women, and Sarah de Swart (from UCITE) will discuss some of the central elements that go into making  influential presentations, such as voice and body language . We will also try to tackle some of the presentation challenges raised by the group. Using a round table method, we will identify the most common issues for faculty and share strategies for success.

Join us for that session on Thursday, March 3rd, 2016 from 12:00 - 1:00 p.m. in the Herrick Room, which is on the ground floor of the Allen building (at the corner of Adelbert and Euclid).

Pizza lunch and sodas will be provided at this session. To help us estimate the amount to order, please let us know if you plan to attend this session by replying to this email or sending a message to ucite@case.edu.
