This past fiscal year, UTech partnered with a number of Case Western Reserve schools and faculty to transform the university’s educational experience into one that exists online as well as on campus. The division played a critical role in supporting the iThink initiative at the Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences, which marked Case Western Reserve’s first online degree program. Because the campus-based university experience is not accessible or ideal for everyone, UTech partnered with two renowned faculty members to transform their classes into Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs). The division strengthened its efforts to provide and implement online learning tools, resulting in new applications for Adobe Connect, MediaVision Courseware and Second Life. With these tools, a Case Western Reserve education can reach more people than ever, regardless if they are across the campus or around the world.
