KSL Data Center Firewall Update March 17
University Technology (UTech) is scheduled to perform a very important maintenance activity at Kelvin Smith Library (KSL) on Friday, March 17, during the university's Spring Break. The UTech team will make upgrades to KSL's Data Center Firewall. Upgrading the firewall during Spring Break is best from an academic perspective-causing the least amount of impact. The maintenance will ensure CWRU remains current with the university's critical infrastructure.
At midnight on the March 17, the upgrade will begin and should end at approximately 1:00 am. For the next five hours- until 6:00 am- UTech technicians will perform service validation activities. During this process, users may experience intermittent downtime and delays. The Project Manager for the Data Center Firewall upgrade, Jim Petras, will be reaching out to the service/system owners regarding the service validation process after the upgrade occurs.
For more information and questions, please contact Jim Petras at firstname.lastname@example.org. Thank you for your patience during this special upgrade.
