University Technology, [U]Tech offers a CWRU Data Backup and Recovery Service to departments, faculty, staff and individuals for work. The system is used to backup programs and data on UTech managed servers and storage. This system is also available to faculty and staff for servers on campus.
Note: UTech does not provide a service suitable for protection of data on desktops or laptops. UTech recommends the use of backup software to protect data on university-owned desktops and laptops. Options for data backup include using an external hard drive and backup tools provided with your operating system or purchasing an online solution, such as Carbonite, CrashPlan or Backblaze.

Technical Details
Daily incremental backups are retained for one month. Monthly full backups are retained for 90 days.

Server Data Backup and Recovery may be used by faculty, staff and students across the university.
