Videoconferencing at CWRU

Videoconferencing at Case Western Reserve University enables students, faculty and staff to have face-to-face meetings with colleagues and peers from around the globe without leaving the campus. It’s easy to hold a videoconference using a videoconference room or desktop program. CWRU's TelePresence Exchange infrastructure supports point-to-point calls (two videoconference sites), multi-point calls (three or more sites) and desktop videoconferencing.

Videoconferencing can be used to talk to people on campus and around the world. It has been used for job interviews, guest lectures, research collaboration, and just chatting with peers.

Whether you're using a videoconference room or one of our desktop solutions, benefits of videoconferencing include:

  • Face-to-face communication without leaving your desk or building
  • Reduced domestic and international travel costs
  • A "green" alternative to travel
  • Visual communication - so much of what we say is NOT said with words
  • Real-time collaboration capabilities
