How to Configure Ubuntu to use WebDAV

  1. From the Main Menu in Ubuntu select Places then Connect to Server.
  2. Enter the following information:
Server Type: From the drop down box select Secure WebDAV (HTTPS)
    Server: editweb.case.edu:8000/<your network id>/<your group's account name>
    Port: leave blank
    Folder: leave blank
User Name: your network id (ex. abc123)
Name to use for connection: enter a name to describe the connection or leave blank
When finished, click the Connect button.
  3. When prompted enter your network password. This is the password used to check your Case email. Your system will then connect to the server. When finished you will see something similar to this:

In recent versions of Ubuntu, Secure WebDAV (HTTPS) might not be listed as a Service Type option. In this case, just enter the HTTP/DAV URI into the dialog and it will still work correctly. For secure connections, use https:// or davs:// instead of http:// or dav://.
