The Physician Assistant Program at Case Western Reserve University is seeking a qualified candidate to fill a junior level faculty position. This is a non-tenure track position at the rank of Assistant Professor, and is a full-time, 12-month faculty position reporting directly to the Physician Assistant Program Director.
The primary responsibilities of this position include: development, oversight and evaluation of clinical sites and pre-clinical clerkships; monitoring of student performance in the clinical year and in pre-clinical clerkships; student advisement and mentoring; conducting clinical site visits; evaluation, outcome analysis and development of PA clinical curriculum. This individual will be responsible for working with the Schools of Medicine, Dental Medicine and Nursing to explore opportunities for interprofessional collaboration in the clinical year.
Additional responsibilities will include: oversight, maintenance, continued development of and outcome analysis on electronic student logging and clinical evaluations. This individual will also be responsible for providing technical support for students with regards to the clinical tracking program.
In addition, he/she will be expected to teach at the graduate level, participate in interprofessional education opportunities; scholarship activities; professional service as related to the mission, vision, core values and goals of the PA program; university service including active participation on program, department, school and university committees.
Added responsibilities include: active involvement in the PA program admissions process, active participation in maintaining PA program accreditation, involvement and leadership in PA program community outreach programs. In addition, he/she will be expected to maintain clinical practice hours.
Qualifications for this position include graduation from an accredited physician assistant program, minimum of an earned Master’s Degree, proven clinical precepting and/or teaching experience, and minimum of three years current clinical experience, current NCCPA certification and eligibility for licensure in the State of Ohio. Advanced computer skills required with proficiency in using databases and clinical evaluation software. Experience in PA education is desirable.
