Division Chief - Nephrology - University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center and CWRU School of Medicine

Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) School of Medicine and University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center are seeking an exceptional candidate to serve as Chief of the Division of Nephrology in the Department of Medicine.

University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center is an affiliate of Case Western Reserve University and the primary academic medical center for the University Hospitals Health System, a top 10-rated (Thomson Reuters) integrated health network located in Northeast Ohio with eight wholly-owned community medical centers, seven ambulatory health centers, and a network of greater than 400 primary care physicians. Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine is noted for its strong collaborations between basic and clinical science departments and is committed to premier basic, translational and clinical discovery science.

The Division will expand and enhance its internationally recognized unit with outstanding programs in discovery, research and education. The Division will support 1) outpatient and inpatient consultative services at UH and its affiliate hospitals; 2) an internationally recognized research program in the areas of end-stage renal disease, chronic kidney disease, and transplant nephrology supported by government and private industry sponsored grants. 3) educational services for patients at UH and its affiliate hospitals. Significant resources are available for the Division and renal program and collaborative efforts.

The successful candidate will have an outstanding record of scholarly achievements, clinical excellence, sustained research funding, along with proven leadership, mentoring and administrative abilities. All areas of research in renal disease and pathophysiology will be considered including clinical/translational, drugs/device, behavioral and or outcomes based research. Applicants should qualify for the rank of Professor or Associate Professor at CWRU. A strong commitment to building inter-disciplinary programs is expected with other Centers at UH/Case.
